Mission First Housing Group

Mission First Housing Group began 25 years ago as a joint venture between the City of Philadelphia, HUD, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Mission First Housing Group has become a full-service, non-profit affordable housing organization developing high-quality, green community assets across the Mid-Atlantic region.

Green Street Environmental has been working for Mission First Housing Group since 2011. We have assisted with Environmental Due Diligence, Site Characterization and Correction Action, and Indoor Air Quality and Mold on many projects.

House of Lebanon Construction2Project Highlight: House of Lebanon

Green Street Environmental provided Environmental Inspection and Consulting support for the redevelopment efforts of the House of Lebanon Senior Housing Apartments. This historical 4-story building, formerly the Margaret Murray Washington School (MM Washington), located at 27 O Street NW in Washington, DC will provide 82 apartment homes for residents ages 55 and older.  Work included:

  • Phase I Environmental Site Assessment and Limited Phase II Sampling and Analyses
  • Evaluation of and assistance with Remediation of Regulated Buildings Materials including Lead and Asbestos
  • Development and implementation of a plan for Basement De-Watering

“As a developer of urban infill projects, Mission First often encounters complex environmental issues.  Green Street has been our “go-to” environmental consultant since 2011 and we rely on their expertise to help us resolve these environmental issues and achieve lender and governmental regulatory approvals.  They are responsive, thoughtful, honest, and cost-effective.  We have referred Green Street to other developers, who have also come to depend on their services.”
