Tradepoint Atlantic

In the fall of 2014 – two years after steel production ceased – Tradepoint Atlantic purchased Sparrows Point with plans to redevelop it as a major East Coast distribution hub.

Named after Thomas Sparrow, Sparrow’s Point is a community in Baltimore County, near Dundalk. Steel was first made in Sparrow’s Point in 1889. Bethlehem Steel took over operations in 1916; by the middle of the 20th century, Sparrows Point was the world’s largest steel mill.
